FM-X programming tutorial 3, part 2 of 2, as discussed in the article series "Manny's FM-Xplorations" at Yamahasynth.com More in depth use of multiple Motion Sequences for control of FM-X parameters to create complex timbral behaviors. Expanded discussion of Scenes for Motion Sequence selection.

Yamaha Montage FM-X synthesized acoustic piano. Uses TX816 programming approach of harmonic component modeling, using the 64 FM-X Operators available in 8 Montage Parts. Discrete groups of Operators each create a specific harmonic component of the sound, and all these components are blended together to give the final result. FM-X programming tutorial 1, part 1 of 2, as discussed in the article series "Manny's FM-Xplorations" at Yamahasynth.com Reviews the core FM-X parameters that create the harmonic structure in the resulting FM synthesis: Operator Spectral Shape, Skirt, Resonance / Feedback, and Frequency Ratio. This is demonstrated by examples of basic 1-Modulator, 1-Carrier FM.

FM-X programming tutorial 4, part 6 of 6, as discussed in the article series "Manny's FM-Xplorations" at Yamahasynth.com Continues "deep diving" into useful FM-X programming tips, tricks and features. Part 6 covers use of Effects processing to enhance FM-X Synthesis behaviors & timbres, using the Montage Performance "MFMX DigidooVoxLdFX" as an example. This Performance is a monophonic lead sound with a vocal formant shifting modulation evocative of the didgeridoo. The core vocal shifting formant effect is synthesized in FM-X utilizing multiple Motion Sequence modulations of operator level, frequency and resonance, and both fixed frequency Modulators and Carriers are unsed as well. Each of the 5 Parts making up the Performance use the 'component voicing' approach to each contribute different components to the final sound. Finally, Motion Sequence control of the Talking Modulator effect is used to enhance the FM-X synthesized timbres.

FM-X programming tutorial 4, part 5 of 6. Covering realtime Knob control of Apreggiator timings and Motion Sequence timing and modultaion parameters. Reviews the Performance "MFMX Galaxy Slow Jam" to demonstrate thanging Arpeggistor/Motion Sequence Unit values, as well as control of Motion Sequence Amplitude and Shapre parameters.

Manny's FM-X Tutorial 4, part 2 of 6. Covers non-sine wave Fixed Frequency Carriers and an in-depth look at real time control of Motion Sequence Pusle Shape parameters Also revisits the use of Scenes for recallling Motion Sequence modultation variations. Reviews the Performance "MFMX Krazy 8 HarmSwp"

Companion video for fourth article of Manny's FM-Xpert eXamples at www. YamahaSynth.com : https://www.yamahasynth.com/modx-cate... A key part of a convincing piano synthesis is emulating the effect the ineria of the keyboard mechanism has on the playing feel, as well as the correct time alignments of the noise, 'stuff' and harmonic components in the initai attack. This video covers the settings of Envelopes in the creation of these desired behaviors in the inital attack of our Harmonic Component Modeled piano sound. Additionally, shows realtime control of the envelopes to morph the sound.

Manny's FM-X Tutorial 4, part 3 of 6. Covers using multiple modulation destinations mapped to a single controller, and introduces Controller Curves to allow for drastically different modulations to be active at differentcontroller positions. This allows you to create drastically different types of timbre modulations from a single controller. Reviews the Performance "MFMX Aether PadCombo"

A short rant containing a hint of snark* Hey Youtube Copyright Bots -- go back to A.I. school! I know my FM resynthesis sounds very realistic and Bernd is a great player but, really now, you shouldn't be flagging synthesier MIDI performances of public domain classical compositions that sound _nothing like_ the alleged copyrighted recording(s)... just saying....:)
