Demonstration example of an "extreme FM patch" to showcase the broad versatility of FM for harmonic creation and timbral control. Using the Yamaha SY99 for it's ability to have 3 feedback loops, patchable Modulator-Operator routings, loopable envelopes and Operator phase control. The final resulting patch evolves with a multitude of varied & unique timbral behaviors in a manner very similar to a massive modular system. Includes the FM resynthesis of true Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for that classic analog flavor. I used the same 2AFM Voice assigned to four parts of a Multi, then used the Master Controller Mode to play 4 MIDI channels simultaneously to effective create a 2-note polyphonic layered "8AFM" voice. The entire sound demo is playing and holding only notes D2 and D3. The sound is repeated a second time with the effects bypassed.
